What is Prophecy IoT® from a technical perspective?

What types of machines can Prophecy IoT® connect to?
Prophecy supports a wide range of CNC machines, PLCs, and controllers, including Fanuc, Haas, Mitsubishi, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Okuma, Makino, Brother CNC, Schneider Electric, and others.
Do machines need to be new?
No. Many legacy machines can be connected using existing controller data. When required, retrofits or external sensors can be used.
Does Prophecy IoT® require changes to machine programs?
Typically no. Prophecy reads controller and PLC data non-intrusively. Configuration occurs at the integration layer rather than on the machine.
Does Prophecy IoT® write to machines or send G-code?
No. Prophecy is read-only at the machine level and does not send G-code or NC programs, preserving machine integrity and avoiding unintended control changes.
What data does Prophecy IoT® monitor?
Common data includes:
- Machine state (running, idle, down)
- Part counts (machine- and operator-reported)
- Scrap and reason codes
- Cycle time and run rate
- Downtime events and root causes
- OEE and shift-based metrics
